Important

Azure AD connector setup is currently only available in OrgChart Viewer. If you are not an Enterprise or Premium customer, you will not be able to directly connect to Azure AD.

Azure AD Connector Configuration

OrgChart Now connects to your Azure AD account using a client ID and secret. To obtain these credentials, follow the steps below.

  1. Log into your Azure AD client account using your Azure AD email and password.

  2. When prompted, select Manage Azure Active Directory.

  3. Configure your application registration. In the sidebar on the left-hand side of your screen, select App Registrations.

  4. On the App Registrations page, select New Registration.

  5. Create a name for your app registration then select the appropriate account access type that fits your company best. Click Register.

  7. After you have registered your application, you will see an overview of the registration with the following information.

  8. Configure your client secret key. This key acts as another level of security for the API. On the left-hand side panel, select Certificates & Secrets.

  9. On the Certificates & Secrets page, select +New Client Secret under Client Secrets.

  10. Add a description and an expiration date, then click Add.

  11. Copy down your client secret key. This is critically important. You will need this information when connecting to OrgChart. This is the only time you will be able to copy this key.

  12. Set permissions for the API. On the left-hand side bar, select API Permissions.

  13. Select +Add a permission.

  14. Select Microsoft APIs then select Microsoft Graph.

  15. Select Application Permissions.

  16. Scroll all the way to the bottom. Under the User heading, select the check box for User.Read.All and then select Add Permissions.

  17. You will need your company’s system administrator to grant the permissions for your company’s API. Please contact your system administrator to grant permissions. If you an admin, make sure to select Grant Admin consent for your company as shown below:
